Loop Genomics Signs Distribution Deals for Asia-Pacific, European Markets
SAN JOSE, California (Nov 27, 2018) – Loop Genomics said today that it has signed 10 new distribution agreements for its genomic tools and services in several Asian-Pacific and European markets.
Loop's offerings will now be sold by Biostar Technology and PhD Biotech in southern China, IMH-Bio in northern China, Millennium Science in Australia and New Zealand, Prisma Biotech in Taiwan, Tomy Digital Biology in Japan, Cambridge Biosciences in the UK, Ozyme SAS in France, Leymus Genomics in German and Denmark, and Isogen Life Science in Spain and the Netherlands.
Founded in 2015, Loop offers Synthetic Long Read (SLR) kits and services that use molecular barcodes to stitch together Illumina short reads into long reads. Researchers can use Loop's technology for plant, animal, and microbial genomics.
According to the firm, its SLR kits and services provide accurate long reads for a variety of applications, ranging from microbiomes to transcriptomes and long-range PCR amplicon sequencing.
"Expanding our global reach with the assistance of strong channel partners is key to our strategy as we continue to advance our SLR genomics products and service offerings into human and clinical research markets," Loop Genomics Chief Commercial Officer Tony Lialin said in a statement.
Earlier this month, Loop raised $8 million in a Series A financing round to expand the platform into new markets.
