Loop Genomics launches new de novo Bacterial Genome Assembly kits and service using long-reads on Illumina sequencers

By using Illuminasequencing instruments coupled with Loop Genomics sample prep kits, probe capture and input from single cell experiments Loop’s service lab can generate long-read data allowing researchers to gain significant insights into their transcriptome research at a very affordable cost. The idea is to focus the sequencing dollars by performing the probe capture on the long-reads, so you don’t waste your money sequencing things that don’t matter to you, then sequencing the entire transcript using long-read technology. “It used to be the case that these single-cell long-read experiments were only able to be performed by a few very well funded labs. Not any more! Loop is leveling the playing field.”, says Dr. Zohar Shipony from Stanford University.
In addition to providing the sequencing service, Loop’s computational pipeline, included in the cost of the service, not only does the computationally intensive recreation of the long-reads from clouds of short reads but also provides actionable reports so researchers can quickly figure out the next experiment they’d like to perform.
